Our Story
A Local Practice
Built Around Real Needs
Jejak AI grew from a straightforward observation: most Malaysian businesses want to apply AI responsibly, but find the path there unclear. We help make it clearer.
Back to HomeWhere Jejak AI Comes From
Jejak AI was established in Kota Kinabalu in response to a gap that became harder to ignore: organisations across Sabah were interested in AI, but the available guidance was either too abstract, too expensive, or shaped around business contexts very different from the East Malaysian market.
The founders — practitioners with backgrounds in data science, HR systems, and organisational development — chose to create something grounded in the realities of local businesses: the workforce structures, the regulatory environment, the scale at which most organisations here operate.
The name Jejak — meaning "trace" or "footprint" in Malay — reflects the intention behind the practice. AI should leave a meaningful trace on how an organisation operates, one that is visible, understandable, and sustainable by the teams who work with it every day.
Since opening, Jejak AI has worked with organisations in public administration, resource industries, professional services, and education — helping each build their own capability rather than creating dependency on external vendors.
Our Mission
To help Malaysian organisations integrate AI in ways that strengthen their people, improve their decisions, and remain aligned with their values — without requiring them to become technology companies in the process.
Our Vision
An East Malaysian business community where AI capability is distributed broadly — where teams can read data, act on insights, and adapt processes with confidence — not just in the largest organisations but throughout the economy.
What We Value
Transparency — we explain what we build and why it works the way it does.
Respect for context — no solution is applied blindly; each is shaped to fit the organisation.
Capability over dependency — our goal is for your team to understand and own what we build together.
Who You'll Work With
A small, experienced team that covers the full range of what each engagement requires.
Hakim Fadzillah
Lead Data Scientist
Hakim has spent twelve years building predictive systems for HR and operations teams across Malaysia and Singapore. He leads scoping and model development for every Jejak AI engagement.
Siew Wei Tan
RPA & Automation Trainer
Siew Wei designs and delivers the RPA training curriculum, drawing on experience implementing automation across logistics, finance, and local government organisations in Sabah.
Rashidah Nor
Dashboard & Visualisation Lead
Rashidah brings a background in business intelligence and user experience to each dashboard project, ensuring that what we build is both technically sound and genuinely usable for decision-makers.
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Data Privacy Compliance
All engagements are conducted in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We document data handling clearly and support clients in their own compliance obligations.
Ethical AI Review
Before any model or automation is deployed, we conduct a structured review of fairness, bias risk, and unintended consequences — particularly for people-facing applications like HR analytics.
Clear Documentation
Every project concludes with written documentation of what was built, why decisions were made, and how to maintain or adapt the system — so knowledge stays with your organisation.
Stakeholder Inclusion
We involve the people who will use the outputs from the start — not just senior leadership, but the operational teams whose daily work the system will affect.
Iterative Delivery
We share progress at regular intervals and incorporate feedback before finalising deliverables — so the end product reflects your needs rather than our initial assumptions.
Transfer of Understanding
Workshops and interpretation sessions are included as standard — ensuring that the people who need to act on insights can do so without needing to re-engage us for routine questions.
AI Integration Expertise in East Malaysia
Jejak AI operates from Kota Kinabalu with a focus on organisations across Sabah and the wider East Malaysian region. Our work spans HR analytics consulting, robotic process automation training, and intelligent dashboard development — services designed to fit the scale and structure of Malaysian businesses rather than multinationals with dedicated technology departments.
The team draws on experience across data science, organisational development, and business intelligence. Each engagement is treated as an opportunity to build internal capability — meaning the organisations we work with leave better equipped to handle similar challenges in the future, not reliant on ongoing external support for core functions.
We work across a range of industries including logistics, agriculture-adjacent services, public-sector adjacent organisations, professional services, and education. Our approach is sector-aware but methodology-consistent: understand the context, design with the people who will use the output, deliver with documentation, and support the transition to independent use.
